Thats right I said DADDY!!

We found out 11.11.11 that I am PREGNANT It has been so hard to keep it a secret from everyone because we are so excited.

I first found out while Justin was at work so I wanted to get something so that it would feel a little more real so I went to Walmart on my way to work to pick out a cute newborn BYU onsie. They didn't have any BYU onsies that I could find so I just got a blue one and figured if we have a girl then I could just make a cute little tutu to go with it. While at work I was so excited I wanted to tell everyone but I thought I knew I should wait until Justin knew so I kept telling him about the cutest shirt that I got and I was so excited to show him when I got home.

When I got home Justin was watching high school football and when I went to turn it off he yelled "THIS PLAY IS HUGE!!"

I said "I have something even bigger" and pulled out the onsie... Silence...

He only glanced away from my eyesight for a millisecond to look at the tiny onsie and then shot his glance right back at me. Slowly he walked back without moving his glance, turned off the TV and said "is this why you wanted to turn off the TV?""

Yes! I took a test this morning and it was positive" He slowly made his way back to me and looked puzzled at the pregnancy test for a few moments and then brought his glance back to me, pulled me in a strong embrace.

So how does Daddy know best?

Ever since we found out we each knew what we were having. A boy or a girl?

So... what is your guess?...

I guessed girl of course I was WRONG Justin was right and He still isn't letting me forget it :)

Our baby is Due July 20th 2012 We are so excited to get ready to be parents and to share all of these experiences with each other.

Has it really already been 2 years?

Wow... it has been an amazing last 2 years. Lots of Learning, Laughs, and Love. Every day I feel more and more lucky to be so blessed with such a loving, caring, and patient husband. We started out the day spending a lot of time together in the morning. We spent so much time talking laughing and of course sleeping (Justin has been very busy and deserves to have a complete morning off.) We also tried to go to our favorite little burger place but it was beyond sad for us to find out that it is now out of business :( so we decided to go to Burger Supreme (a place we used to go a bunch while we were dating) It was good but definitely a let down from T's Dinner.

Have you ever tried dipping your fries in your shake? If not you are really missing out :) after dinner we had a fun trip to our own park where we go together all of the time. Of course we had to because this January Utah weather has been so nice lately (strange that I am not kidding) But unfortunately neither of us had a jacket and as soon as the sun went down it became too chilly to spend any more time out there. But it really was a beautiful day to celebrate an even more beautiful/special day.

Of course most everyone who knows us knows I married a big kid. But it is things like this that remind me how lucky I am and how cute the man is that I married.

Justin got a remote control airplane for Christmas and he took it out for his first flight the other day. He was so nervous it was cute. You can't really see in the picture but the top right picture he is leaning to turn the plane (SO cute!)

This is just a video of justin flying for a little bit.

This was the second time he landed but the bummer is that I didn't get the first time on video because it was a much steadier landing and he was like ten times more excited after watching it land (if you could believe it after seeing how excited he is at the end of this video)

So cute right?! My favorite part of the entire thing was his HUGE smile the entire time! I don't know if you can tell the difference but these pictures were taken right after one of the flights he had the biggest "Real Justin" smile ever and in the one he is posing in he lost it but the next picture was taken just seconds after the first. Can you see the difference in the smiles? The smile on the right is the one that just melts me :)

Its CHRISTMAS!

Its here!! Christmas is here!! this is our third year together and we decided that we wanted to have our very own family Christmas just the two of us. Because we had plans to spend the next two days with both our families we decided to have our Christmas on Christmas Eve.

Somehow Santa knew that I always borrowed Justin's sweats because he got me some of my very own! ;)

Justin is such a little kid so of course I think that the best present for him would be toys. I think it was a pretty good hit :)

He played with that car for hours! He even made little obstacles in the apartment using my shoes and three big things of Sprite.

Isn't he so cute? I am married to a big kid and I love it :) It was an amazing Christmas and we enjoyed spending so much time with our families.

Deck the Halls

Its that time of year again! Right after celebrating Thanksgiving. Justin was so excited to get into the Christmas spirit. He is the one who got all of our christmas stuff out and ready :)

Each year we like to get a new ornament for each year. Our first Christmas together we were still just engaged so our first ornament had a picture of our engagement picture in it. Our next ornament was a gift from my grandma. It was a gold ornament that my Grandma and Papa had on their first tree so it ment so much to me.

I am so excited to spend another amazing year with the love of my life and to start having some of our own traditions.

Squa Peak

Justin and I love to get away and spend time together whenever we have a chance and with fall what better way to see all of the beautiful fall colors than to drive up to Squa Peak and then enjoy a little more time together by going for a short hike to our very own spot of the most beautiful view in Utah Valley.

We had a short photo shoot to capture the many faces of us.

Isn't he so cute? I am the luckiest :)

It is always a treat when Justin and I can get some time to spend together and he is so fun that I can't help but enjoy every minute of it.

It has been a long and stressful last few months and it was about time for us (especially Justin) to take a break! We left for St George and spent the weekend enjoying our time together. We realized that the last day where it was just the two of us all day was in May... WAY TOO LONG!

Every time we go to St George Justin all but begs me to go to Burger King. Last time I went there I got sick so I wasn't really in any rush to go back but this time I actually gave in. Justin was able to get his Burger King and maybe you can see by the look on his face that he was excited?

Justin was really excited about the McDonalds Monopoly game so we started out our first day with McDonalds breakfast. We didn't win anything but it was still a fun trip.

We also had a chance to go for a bike ride together to work off our breakfast. It was so much fun but I was saddle sore for the rest of our trip. :(

Of course we had to take a trip to spend some time with Grandma Bertram (my grandma who lives in St. George) After helping her with some "computer problems" we were able to just spend a lot of time with her which is always such a treat. Of course when we go see my grandma we have to make a special trip to the garage to see my dads old 65 Mustang. Justin just looks like such a cute and excited little boy when he sits in that car. Justin as always had a bunch of homework so he did most of that while we visited. It will be really nice when he is done in the next few months.

There was also a new diner that just opened up so my grandma gave us some money so we could try out their food :)

It was so wonderful for us to be able to spend so much time together. We also got to lay out a little and spend some time at the temple which is always an amazing experience.

Pumpkin Carving!!

Even though Halloween is not Justin's favorite holiday he still humors me by carving pumpkins with me :) it is always a fun and inexpensive date to help celebrate the holiday :)

I think I have to admit that Justin's pumpkin was my favorite. He says that his pumpkin has lots of character and of course I have to agree :)

BYU vs. UTAH Football game

Yes we did go to the BYU Utah game and despite all of the fumbles, interceptions and all together bad plays Justin and I still had a great time enjoying our time together!

We got POM POM's!!!

Probably the best part of actually watching the game was our view! there was the most beautiful sunset that you could even imagine.

Needless to say we didn't stay for the whole game but I am pretty sure the final score was 54-10... so sad is all I can say. But it was still fun to get out and to enjoy each others company :)

Lettuce Wraps!!

We finally got a night out together. PF Changs.

So Amber started to do this post, but was only able to get one picture on, then got really distracted with Facebook and other things, but since this is our journal and will be how we will remember our lives together, I decided to take the initiative and fill in and do a post for myself. It all started on March 31, 2010 on a cold spring morning when Amber began a new page in her life. Growing up she always wanted to be a hair stylist, but decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and go to school to be an elementary education teacher. After having been married for just a couple of months, Amber and I talked about our dreams and goals, and what we wanted to accomplish. She mentioned how she always loved doing make-up and hair, and that she always wanted to be a hair stylist. That is where we both made the decision that Amber should live her dream, so she enrolled in cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute. She went from styling and cutting hair on dolls to becoming the top of her class and graduated at the top of her class with an Aveda Honors Diploma. She was 1 of only 2 who received this prestigious award. Anyway... after she finished school, we were going to go to a nice restaurant. We really wanted to go to a nice place that is out of the ordinary, and we ended up making the choice to go to PF Changs. We LOVE their Lettuce wraps, and ordered the lettuce wraps, some sweat and sour chicken, and some honey shrimp. Isn't Amber the best!! :)

Its my BIRTHDAY!! Well Half Birthday :)

It was my Half Birthday and Justin and I decided to celebrate it by going to the Draper Temple. It was so beautiful and such a great experience to share with my hubby.

Justin decided to surprise me with dinner from Little Ceasars a half birthday cake from the Cheesecake Factory. It was all so delicious and a perfect way to end such a nice day with my handsome Hubby.

I am so thankful for such a great Hubby who supports me in all that I do. Thank You Justin for being the amazing man you have always been.

The Greatest Game Ever Played!

Monday I wasn't having a very good day so Justin thought it would be a good idea to have me go golfing with him and his parents even though I had never even so much as been on a golf course before. Well I didn't really golf but I did get to practice a little with putting and Justin said I was pretty good. I can't believe I am saying this but it was actually a GREAT idea! It completely changed my mood and I knew that it was a great day.

My job was to drive the cart and that was very fun for me :)

So... funny story, there we were on the second to last hole when Justin's dad Brad found a guarder snake in the river nearby and thought it would be a great idea to hit it towards his wife Vicki, at first this was funny to me until the snake wrapped himself around Brads club and let go in a way that made it so he had a perfect take of 15 feet in the air towards me!! I HATE snakes so of course when I saw it coming towards me I just about Crapped my pants! I guess while I was screaming with my head between my legs the snake hit the roof of the golf cart and landed in the grass next to me. definitely the scariest moment of my life but it did make for a good story right?

Of course I can't tell this story without a picture of the culprit so here he is. All 3 feet of his nasty slithery self.

This really was such a fun day and I am so thankful for Justin finally talking me into going with him.

ZOO DAY FOR SCHOOL!!

In my last class at school we had an incentive of going to the Zoo and on salon visits in Salt Lake for selling lots of product the best part is that we also got hours for it and we made our goal! I Love the Zoo and it was so cool because we were able to get closer to the animals than I have ever been able to get before so it was so cool!

There was a baby elephant who was so cute but he was always so close to his mommy so it was hard to get a good picture. I loved the Zoo and it was also cool to get a tour of the really nice salons in Salt Lake.

Date Night!

For our date night Justin planned out an entire night for us but said it all had to be a surprise. We started out our date at Pita Pit and took our pitas to "our park" It is our park because this is the park where Justin and I started our relationship needless to say it is my favorite park :)

The next stop on our date was to a big park (where we were able to park really close thanks to Justin's new toy Skeeter the scooter) where we were able to watch some AMAZING Fireworks! They even had Lots of "BOOMERS" Which are my favorite!! I like them because their Boom is so loud that it makes your heart beat an extra time and it is so cool!!

I Always love spending time with my Hubby and Best Friend in the entire world, there is something about fireworks that makes a perfect day even more perfect!!

Fun In The Sun

Not too long ago we had the pleasure of going to hang out with the nieces at there house. It is always a treat when we get to spend time with them (and I won't complain about being able to spend time with Sherri either)

We had so much fun spending time with the girls, we went swimming and then joined them at their house afterward for dinner with the most amazing desert cinnamon sticks I have ever had! (thanks Sherri for chowing down on them as well to make me feel better about all of the calories I had consumed!)

JJ's Birthday!!

To "kick off" the end of the month the Jackman family went to the BYU Championship Rugby Game. Despite the fact that they lost it was SOO much fun!! we got to hang out with the nieces while learning a little bit about such an interesting sport. Justin LOVED it! Once we left I am pretty sure that he was already thinking of ways he can get into playing Rugby with his friends.

Justin's birthday was Sunday and we were going to St. George to celebrate but since it would be hard to decorate a place that is not ours and to do much on a Sunday I decided that I would make Friday an extra special day for him for when he got home from work.

I felt like such a good little Wifee when I finished his cake I decided that it is a good thing that I am in hair school and not in culinary school. Because Justin loves to golf I made him a golfing cake, and although it was not the most beautiful cake I was still pretty proud of myself for the way it turned out :)

Once we were in St. George I still wanted Justin's Birthday to be special so I had his dad hide his present in the back of the car so Justin wouldn't see it so he could open it on the morning of his Birthday

Monday was our only real day of enjoying the sun in St George so we decided to make the best of it by roller blading, hiking, swimming, and shopping! It was such a great day but by the end we were definitely tuckered out and ready to go home

We love St. George and every chance we get to spend time together. This was such a great vacation and such a great opportunity to enjoy our time together.

Job Chart!

So I must admit that it has been a little hard to remember what needs to be cleaned, when. Justin, being the amazing planner/organizer that he is, came up with the great idea to do a job chart! we have color coded chores each day with spots for us to put stickers on them when we have completed our job. if we don't get all of our stickers for the week then we don't get to go on a date which keeps us remembering that we want to do our chores.

By the end of the week we got all of our stickers!! Justin and I also decided that we would take turns coming up with inexpensive dates This time was my turn. I decided on a picnic with homemade chicken pot pie, rice krispies, and roller blading. It was my first time roller blading for about ten years so it took a while but eventually I got a hold of it. Justin was so patient and helpful for the times when I was really scared.

This summer has been so great so far and we are looking forward to spending more time outside in the wonderful weather.

Remember When?

Remember when you were single and there were so many things that made life much easier? Like making meals was so easy because all you needed to do was make one meal and it lasted you three days? When you only needed to do one load of laundry maybe once every three weeks? How times have changed. I remember that... Now it is at least 3 loads of laundry a week that covers the entire front room, one big meal that if we are lucky the leftovers will last until the next meal time.

What makes it all worth it? Lots of needed naps and of course the most amazing husband who is there to help out wherever he can! It doesn't hurt that he is so great to be around all of the time as well

Gosh I love him :)

SKEETER!!

"Skeeter" is Justin's new baby. He loves going to and from work with him, to and from school with him, and even just spending some of his extra time with him. Who is Skeeter you ask?... Skeeter is Justin's new Scooter! We figured it would be such a great idea for Justin to have fun and to save gas at the same time.

This is a picture of Justin getting ready for work... You can't really see the clock but it says 5:37 and look at Justin in all of his gear with such a HUGE smile on his face! Isn't he the cutest?!

After a week of practice, Justin and I went for our first ride together. It was SO fun but SOO cold!! It has definitely warmed up a bit since then so it makes it even more fun to ride together.

The Fashion Show!

It has been a very busy month! My class at school was in charge of our fashion show THIRST which was to raise money for Western Resource Advocates for clean water in Bulgaria. Justin was such a great husband and came to support me and all the work I had done.

Everything that my class was not in charge of they put our Leadership group in charge of it. Because I was the Chairman of our Leadership group I got to be in charge of our silent auction which raised a lot of money so it was definitely a success :)

I was in charge of such a great talented group everyone did such an amazing job at getting our ideas put together which made my job much easier! I could not have done it without them!

These are two of our models. Pretty awesome!

This was such a great experience and I had so much fun! But I would be lying if I didn't say I am so glad it is over!

St. Patties Day!

St Patties Day was such a great day! I had school all day and came home to the best husband in the world making me St Patties Pancakes. I just love him! This means so much more to me because it is a tradition I have always had in my family but I didn't have an opportunity to make anything that morning because we were so busy that morning.

I know that some people may argue this but I have by far the best Husband/Best Friend EVER and I love him so much!!

Family Fun!

BALLOONS!! Justin has a project coming up that has to do with lots of water balloons. Because we had so many we decided to have some fun :) We referred to the balloons as our children by the next day we only had three balloons on the wall (the amount of children that we will have) there were two pink and one orange the two little pink ones were stuck together so of course we decided that we would have twin girls and a little boy ;)

Justin is taking on the brave task of teaching me how to drive stick. The weather on Sunday was perfect so Justin came up with the idea to drive to our park where we would go when we were dating. Driving wasn't too bad because there weren't many people on the roads but we had a lot of fun playing on the playground. :)

I love swings so much!! It just completely reminds me of when I was little. Whenever I feel sad I try to find a swing set which usually helps take my troubles away or at least helps me to forget for awhile.

Going to the park was such an wonderful idea! I had so much fun spending time with my hubby outdoors :)

I guess it is about time I updated... :)

So I am sitting at home realizing that it has almost been a month and a half since I last posted. I knew I was doing so well all of January with so much going on. I guess I can blame it on the fact that the internet doesn't always want to work for us (but it is probably just the fact that I have completely forgotten about it. Anyways, this past month has been so much fun! we were able to see everyone in my family at least twice in one month! Of course that is with exception of my sister Nikki who is living in Connecticut :( At some time of the month we had the pleasure of going out to eat with my mom when she came to Provo for a seminar her cousin was teaching at UVU. Katy was also able to be there so we decided to go to The Pizza Factory for some yummy food and bread sticks. It was DELICIOUS! but the company was even better! I had a lot of fun spending time with my favorite little sister Katy ;)

Of course this month we also had Valentines Day! I love Valentines Day! Not so much the idea of everyone flaunting that they are in a relationship with someone, but it is a special day for showing the person or people you love that you love them. Justin and I kept it very simple, before he got home I deep cleaned the entire apt (one of Justin's favorite things it to come home to a clean place) and we had a yummy dinner of pink crepes with strawberries. After that we went a little over our "date night" budget and made a trip to the movies which was so nice. It was so much fun I just love when I get to spend time with the man I love :)

We also have the privilege of going to the BYU sports games every once and awhile. We always enjoy going to these games :) Lately we have been going to quite a few mens volleyball games which are always so fun to watch. They jump SOO high!

Also this month one of my best friends Kayla came down to Orem to celebrate the birthday of our other best friend Jessica. She had work for most of the day so Justin decided we should make her a cake. She had plans with Steve (her wonderful hubby) for dinner so we decided we should still sing to her and get it on tape so she could see it. We decided it would be such a wonderful idea to put a huge picture of Jessica in the background so that she could really feel the love :) I am sad we didn't get any pictures of the birthday girl that night but these are some pictures of before we went over to celebrate

Its my Birthday!

It was no secret to those who I talked to that I just was not excited for my birthday. I had a full day at school and I knew I would not get to spend any time with Justin in the morning. Justin is just so amazing and he made me feel so special even just from the moment I woke up.

After 10 hours at school, this is what I came home to.

I got all but One candle! Close enough ;) Justin is a great present wrapper. I think each present was wrapped in at least 13 grocery bags.

You can't really see but he got me a meat pounder! I have been talking about how I really wanted one so he got it for me! He is so wonderful :)

It was a battery! haha I loved it! But wait? there is more? YES!!

It is a Big BEAUTIFUL CLOCK!! oh man my hubby must love me!!

We also had so much fun on Sunday spending time with my family! Carly made some Amazing Cake balls which are kinda like cake popsicles dipped in chocolate yummm! I also had a great surprise to have one of my best friends Kayla who showed up for dinner and cake! It was all so fun and I am so glad that I have such an amazing family to share it with!

We even had the opportunity to share it with Nikki and Peter who are living in Connecticut because of the fabulous wonders of Skype!

This time blowing out the candles didn't go too well... apparently someone doesn't want my birthday wish to be granted... :( haha

It was such a great birthday and I am so thankful for all of the birthday wishes from our wonderful family and friends!

Happy One Year!

It is finally here! We have officially made it to the One Year Mark! Even though we have already celebrated, we still made the actual day really special! The morning of I woke up to a beautiful rose sitting on our kitchen counter with a little disclaimer from Justin saying "Happy Anniversary! One rose for the best year of my life" :D oh it just makes me so happy! Usually I am not a flower person and Justin knows that but he also knows that symbolism gifts are the best of all gifts so this was PERFECT! Also, for my gift to Justin, I have been working for the past 5 or so months on a blog book to sum up our year together and I gave that to him. I must say that it turned out much better than I could have even hoped!

For lunch I made one of Justin's favorite meals of mine, chicken pot pie. It turned out pretty good but it was just fun to have :)

For dinner we went to Outback Steak House and split one of the most rare pieces of steak I think I have ever seen but it was oh so delicious!

Of course for the Year anniversary you have to eat a piece of your One year old wedding cake. Surprisingly it was actually pretty good if you ate a piece right by the fondant which acted as a barrier from frost bite. Also surprisingly, I was actually pretty sad to throw it away. It was just weird to throw away something that symbolizes our first year.

It has been an amazing year and we are looking forward to having many more!

Games, Fun, and Oreo Cookies

Justin and I decided that on our day off together that we should make something homemade and delicious for dinner. After looking through the many cook books the main thing that caught our eye (that we had ingredients for) was homemade Oreo Cookies. Now I know that Oreo's are not really a dinner but it just looked too yummy to resist :) They turned out great and for dinner I ended up making meatloaf (definitely not as good as the cookies but still pretty tasty)

Just before Nikki left we had the pleasure of hanging out with her for a few days while she had a Seminar for school. It was so fun to wake up and get ready with her just like the old days.

For Christmas I got Justin the game of Jenga. After he opened it Brian his brother laughed and made a comment about how he is not very good because he has shaky hands. When we were playing the game I knew for sure I would win but we would still have a great time playing it. (even though you can't really tell in the picture the structure was about ready to fall just by sitting there. it kept teetering)

We had a lot of fun playing we played it twice!

And just for Justin I enlarged the bottom center picture... That is right... I lost Both times!

We had so much fun but I know we will need a re-match soon :)

Good Bye Party!!

Nikki is moving away :( The Bertram sisters are all so close so we are all really sad to see Nikki going away to Connecticut but we all know that it will be good for her. It is our first time saying goodbye to a family member so we thought we should throw an amazing going away party. Carly and Nikki came up with the amazing idea to have a going away bowling game. Not just any bowling game a Going Away Wedding Dress Bowling Game!! We had so much fun getting back into our wedding dresses (and Katy in her Prom dress) and strutting our stuff down the bowling lane.

Although we were hesitant to go in at first, we had so much fun playing around and goofing off.

Ethan even had a great time joining in on the fun. He got lots of Candy, Love, and he even had a great wack at bowling.

It was so much fun having a girls night. Spending time with the girls, saying goodbye but I must say that I really missed Justin and spending time with him.

Its been a Year!! Well... almost.... :)

Almost a year ago Justin and I thought it would be a good idea if we were to get married. Best Idea EVER! but since Justin and I have had such crazy schedules with work and school we decided to take a break early and head down to St. George to celebrate our One Year Anniversary. We both were able to get the week after Christmas off of school and work so it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I would like to turn the attention to the top right picture of Justin. I laughed pretty hard at this picture and all I could think to do was sing the song "bad to the bone. da na na na nuh"

The drive down was pretty great. we had a lot of time to just talk and joke with each other. When I was resting my eyes Justin took a disgusting picture of me. I accidentally deleted it and he threatened me with some other pretty gross looking pictures that he would show them to everyone if I didn't re create that sleeping picture so... I did my best but I couldn't help but laugh at a lot of the tries. These pictures are kinda a result of the whole thing.

Our trip was just filled with eating, sleeping, eating, watching a few movies, watching sports while eating, a little bit of shopping (which is kinda a big deal because this is the first time we have actually bought something at the outlets out of the many times we have gone) and then of course eating some more! We have a little tradition that every time we go to St. George we buy chicken nuggets. In the past that was about all we would eat with every meal for the entire time we were there but that would usually end in Justin getting sick so we only had them about twice this trip.

The night we got back from St. George we decided that because we were still on vacation Justin had the wonderful idea to set up our tent and our sleeping bags so we could go camping. we watched back to the future and then we decided that we had our fun and the ground was too hard so we didn't make it very far with our "roughing it" and went to our nice comfortable bed :)

It has been such a wonderful year filled with great memories and I am excited what the rest of our lives have in store for us :)

It's Christmas!!

The Christmas season had finally arrived and Justin and I had a lot of fun preparing for it :) we decorated our tree with some beautiful snowflakes and a star compliments of Justin, some nativity ornaments given to us last Christmas when we were engaged (Thanks Mom and Dad ;) ) and with our beautiful popcorn and gummy bear chain. We also had a countdown to Christmas chain (not pictured)

Justin and I thought it would be really fun to make a gingerbread house together. I must say it got pretty intense with the amazing frosting job Justin had done.

Christmas Eve and Morning we spent time with the Bertram family. My parents got the family the "Just Dance" game for Wii which was a total blast!!

Justin is the CHAMPION of the game and he got the amazing score of 23000!! (the second highest that anyone got was 17000)

I just had to zoom in on the top right picture so you could get a taste of how good Justin was.

Near the end of presents Nicole surprised the family by telling us she is Three months Pregnant!!! So Crazy but everyone was so excited for her!

After Christmas with the Bertrams we made the drive back to Orem to spend time with the Jackman family. We had so much fun with great company and food! The Jackmans gave us some amazing camping gear to get us started on our new hobby. Jaylee saw Uncle Bean (Justin) playing in the sleeping bag so she had to have a turn too. She only stayed in there long enough for us to snap some pictures of her :) This Christmas Justin gave me an amazing gift by playing the guitar and piano (which he hasn't done in over a year) It was pretty much amazing!

This year has been a great Christmas! It was so amazing to spend so much time with all of the people we love and we are looking forward to spending so much time with them all in the future!

To set up our First Christmas tree!!!

We finally got our very first Christmas tree last week and we had a blast setting it up :)

As a Bertram tradition we made little popcorn/gummie bear strands to put on the tree. We also made lots of paper snowflakes (I must say Justin was pretty pro at both)

I wanted to do something special to surprise Justin for when he got home for work so I made my very first pizza which I must say I thought I did a pretty darn good job :) We picked our own toppings and it was delicious!

We have been having so much fun getting ready for our first Christmas together. I am getting so gitty over Justin's present, I have even gotten very close to breaking down and giving it to him early but Justin is right, it will be better to open on Christmas day. :)

I feel as though I have been severely slacking in updating the blog so this blog will be my first update of all updates.

Out With the Old and In With the New

It has finally happened! we are out of our hobbit house! from hobbit doors, two foot by one foot windows, hitting our head on the ceilings, no dishwasher, stinky smelly smells into vaulted ceilings, huge windows, dishwasher, and all so pretty :)
we finally got completely unpacked on Saturday (Justin did all of the work while I was at school. Isn't he great?!) and got all of our furniture in so it is starting to feel more like home. (now we just need time together to figure out where all of our decorations are going to go.

This little boy is Ryker the boy I have been watching 3 times a week when I am not at school. He is such a joy and so fun to be around. Sad news is I will not be watching him much longer because his mom is going to stop working so that she can be at home with him. Great for Ryker and his mom but sad for me, I have gotten very attached to this boy.

BYU Basketball

Tuesday (thanks completely to mom and dad Jackman) we had the great opportunity to go to the BYU basketball game. This was so much fun for me because I haven't been able to go to any of the football games with the rest of the family because of school. I also decided that it is so much more fun watching basketball than it is to watch football (which could also be because the last live football game I was able to watch was over a year ago so I may have just forgotten.) The game was off to a slow start but then about the end of the first half it started to pick up and it was a great game with some amazing shots. I also learned a bit more about basketball thanks to Justin which made it really fun :) And I wish we would've gotten a picture but there was this crazy student right behind us who was dressed in this weird all blue body suit that even covered his face... I must say it was kinda awkward even looking at him because you couldn't see what he was looking at.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we spent the day with the Bertram family which was really fun to spend so much time with my sisters. We enjoyed the day with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and of course pumpkin pie!
Justin and I also got in some Black Friday shopping! Haha well we didn't really go until late at night and we didn't really get any great deals, we just really needed a t.v. stand for our new place, either way it was fun to have a night out on the town :)

The First Snowball!

As it is the end of November and it hasn't really snowed much we were getting prepared to have a not so white Christmas but much to our surprise we woke up Sunday morning to find SOO much snow!! The thing about this snow storm is that it is the first time that we have really been super excited about it snowing now that the snow can't completely cover our windows :) Justin had fun and made the "first snowball" of the winter!

Halloween!

This year for Halloween, Justin and I spent some time with her family for a Bertram family party! Justin and I dressed as 60-70's people with some pretty awesome wigs we borrowed from Brian (thanks again!) We had a lot of fun playing minute to win it games Justin even impressed the family with all of his moves (I must say that I was also shocked!) We always enjoy the time that we have to spend with our families and we love them so much.

Memory Lane

We took a trip down Memory Lane when we drove the Alpine Loop by Sundance and visited the spot that we got engaged exactly a year ago. This spot has a lot of great memories, we had our first kiss here, we would come almost once a month to just stargaze and have some great conversations, and we also got engaged! It was fun to relive the great memories :)

St, George and Salon Wars

This St. George trip marked our 9 month Anniversary. We have always enjoyed St. George as our getaway. This time in St. George we didn't take as many pictures and the ones we did take just didn't seem too interesting. We had an amazing time just catching up on some much needed rest, visiting temple square and checking out the beautiful visitors center with the most amazing art. We also had fun spending some time with my little sister Katy and a few of her friends for the last night we were there.

While at the temple we found some cotton plants which we thought were pretty cool. Some of the buds had just bloomed it was really cool to see :)

We went to the Pizza factory for the first time together so of course we enjoyed their delicious bread sticks. we got so full off of the bread sticks that we only ate about 1/3 of our meal.

This trip was much shorter than we would've liked but every bit helps :) we still had a blast spending so much time together

SALON WARS

What is Salon wars? It is a themed hair show competition between the top hair salons in Utah by invite only. This year AVEDA Institute was the first and only school to ever be invited! It was so much fun to be a part of and it was so fun to prep for.

This years theme of the show was Halloween. My school lead by Heggy Gonzalez did an amazing job with our own theme of doppelganger (kinda like an evil side to each person)

This top picture of the four is our group of models in their outfits. Kinda weird but super cool :) I was not fortunate enough to go to the actual show because I am not yet 21 :( but I heard that our school rocked it just as hard as any of the salons and we definitely held our own. It really was a blast to be a part of it and I can't wait to see videos of the show when it comes out.

Date Night

This last weekend Justin and I went on a date with our good friends Jessica and Steve Hart. We first went to a very yummy Chinese restaurant and then to their house to carve pumpkins and attempted to watch the new Robin Hood. But because we are all old and married our bed times are much earlier so needless to say we weren't quite able to watch the entire movie without falling asleep

These pictures were because Last year Justin got Me to put a bunch of pumpkin guts in my mouth by promising he would do it after me. Well we forgot... but don't worry I remembered that promise this year :) This is actually the second try because we didn't have enough time to get a picture of the first time other than him spitting it out. He didn't like the texture :)

Busy Busy

Life is pretty crazy right now...(this is Justin doing a small update). Amber is still going to Aveda Institute and is doing very well. She also started a new job where she is babysitting a 6 month old boy for another couple a couple hours a week. She really enjoys that, and she gets her baby fix from doing that.

I have been working at Xactware in Technican Support for officially 1 year now. I am working full time, and I am also going to school at UVU. I am in the Business Management Program, and if all goes well I am going to graduate next December.

Since both of us are so busy, we don't really do anything, and when we do have time to do anything, we usually just watch a movie or something because we are so tired. That is why we don't have any pictures to add with the post. Hopefully we will do better.

So today Justin and I had some time after dinner before he had to go home teaching so I gave him the opportunity to choose what we did. After we played Farkle (one of our favorite games) Justin wanted to set up our own Mini Golf Game and we had a blast :)

Six Months!!

Earlier this week was our 6 month anniversary but it feels like we have always been married :) In order to celebrate we took a vacation to St George. (we mostly just took it because we needed a break, but whatever works right?) We had such a great time swimming and just enjoying being together. We also had the great joy of being there for a day with Mom and Dad Jackman. We had such a blast with them! An amazing breakfast outside, swimming, the temple, and going to see Tarzan in Tuacahn which was awesome :)

During this play they flooded the stage! the special effects were incredible!

Our last full day in St. George was just about the only day that Justin wasn't sick with something... We had a fun time bike riding. Since it was my first time Justin was easily riding circles around me. But I would say I was pretty good whenever the ground was flat ;)

We definitely had a blast and as always we are so thankful to Mom and Dad Jackman for being generous enough to let us stay in their beautiful home :)

Ever since we got married we had been so excited to be able to move into our own place! Our place where we could settle in with all of our stuff. Our only problem was that we had to wait for Justin's Cousin and his wife to move out first... But everything worked out perfectly when they moved out Thursday February 4, 2010. We were able to get our bed delivered on Friday (with mom and dad Jackman so willing to wait for the delivery) Saturday when Justin and Amber had the entire day off we were able to get our things moved in! Amber went early (while Justin was being a good student and finishing up his homework) to do some last minute cleaning and Momma Jackman was so wonderful and cleaned out the disgusting oven and made it beautiful! After an entire day we were finally able to get everything moved in...

Amber was very sleepy from such a long day so Justin got everything for the kitchen, out of the boxes and into its own place.

We then had lots of fun playing... Playing in our little midget bathroom :)

After we had all of our fun with our door
we decided it was time to crack down and get to work...

So we were finally able to finish.....

It has now been our place for a week and we are excited to make this apartment our home

On Friday November 27, 2009, we had the great privilege to have our engagement photos taken. We had them taken on Center Street in Provo. As you can see in the pictures, Justin had so much fun, while it looks like Amber is just there for the ride. ;) We both had an enjoyable time, and the pictures turned out great.

Carving Pumpkins for Halloween

Just before halloween we got together and had an awesome pumpkin carving night. Justin was awesome at carving pumpkins and gutted his pumpkin in like 3 minutes flat. Amber struggled a bit and ended up cuttin out the back of her pumpkin. But when all was said an done, Charly was voted much cooler than scarface.

His side: on Monday October 26, 2009, I made the "long" journey up to Kaysville to talk to Brad Bertram (Amber's Dad) to ask for his permission to marry his 3rd daughter Amber. Luckily I passed the test, and since he was to busy to play a game of golf for her, he said that he would let me marry her. On Tuesday I went to Wilson Diamonds to purchase the Ring. I picked it up on Thursday and that's where the excitement began. After a couple of long days, Halloween finally came. I went to pick Amber up at 1:00PM to go for 'the drive' up above Sundance on the Alpine Loop, which is also where we had our first kiss. I had previously worked out a plan with my parents to help me out. They went up the 'the spot' just before we went up there, and they put the towel (the same one where we had our first kiss on), a picture of the both of us (the picture where my heart was captivated by Amber), and a dozen red roses. These were all placed under a Tupperware so it wouldn't be too obvious. We headed up the canyon in Sexy Baby (my car). I wasn't nervous until about 2 minutes before we got to the spot. When we got there, we saw the Tupperware. I had Amber go to lift it up so she would see the surprise. When she lifted it up, she gave me a big hug. I then pulled away and said, "I have a question". She responded, "Are you serious?" That's when I pulled out the ring, got on my knee, and said, "Will you marry me?" I think she said yes, since she gave me an even bigger hug, and this time she even gave me a kiss!! It turns out that she did say yes, and that was the beginning of Eternity.

Her side: The week went by just like any other week. Justin seemed to be getting off work later and later each day and Justin was becoming visibly more stressed as the week went on. I was just very excited for the weekend when we would be able to spend the entire day together. After carving our beautiful pumpkins "Charly" and "Scarface" we decided that we would go for a drive the next morning. Saturday morning came just like any other day, I spent the morning with my roommates and getting ready to see Justin. Justin got to my apartment around one and we left for our ride. We decided that we would go to a great spot of remembrance The Alpine Loop and Sundance (were we had our first kiss and had re-visited on other occasions) When we pulled up to "Our Spot" we saw this weird box thing... We decided that we should go lift it up just to see what it was. Walking up to it I was very hesitant... half jokingly I asked if there was like a cat or something in it. Because he still didn't seem know I decided I would be the tough one and check it out. First touching and then giving the box thing a little kick to make sure that there was nothing moving in there it all seemed safe. When I lifted up the box I saw roses with a picture (one of our first pictures of just us together) Still not knowing what was going on (I know I was very oblivious the entire time) I just figured that this was all for our anniversary which was just two days prior. I gave him a huge hug for being so amazing when he said the ever familiar "I have a question" the statement we say whenever we have had something on our mind for a very long time.
Shocked and now finally realizing I asked "Are you serious?!" When he pulled out the ring, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
Ecstatic I said "Of course" Giving him an even bigger hug and a kiss I had become one of the luckiest girls in the world!
